As businesses increasingly adapt portfolio, programme and project management, there is an increasing need for an effective infrastructure, namely the programme/project office, to support them.

The need for an effective support structure increases not only with the number of programmes and projects undertaken, but also with the significance placed on these initiatives. Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O?) is the latest best practice guidance from AXELOS addressing this functionality. The P3O? model provides a decision and delivery support structure for enabling change within an organisation. This may be provided through a single permanent office such as, for example the Portfolio Office, Centre of Excellence, Enterprise or Corporate Programme Office. Alternatively it may be provided through a linked set of offices (portfolio office, programme offices, project offices).

P3O? is aligned with PRINCE2? and MSP? and blends in one place a set of principles, processes and techniques to facilitate effective portfolio, programme and project management through enablement, challenge and support structures. These structures bridge the gap between the strategy and policy makers, and the delivery arm of the organisation.

p3m global suggest candidates sit the Foundation and Practitioner courses together over 5 days. Separate 3 day foundation courses and 2 day practitioner courses are available upon request.

We were in the process of re-structuring our operating model and our delivery organisation. This course was wholly relevant and assisted us in both understanding and implementing the required changes to develop and maintain appropriate support structures to facilitate decision making and prioritise core programmes to meet our corporate objectives. There are different PMO structures that can be adopted depending on the organisational design and maturity and this course really helped us to design our teams to provide assurance, coaching and mentoring to build a workforce capable of first-class programme and project delivery. There was also some healthy competition amongst the candidates to get the highest exam score! Great office location and training environment.

Thank you for your wonderful 5 star review Jo! It is great to read that you felt the course was relevant and helped to design your teams. Congratulations on passing P3O certification!

As my first studying for quite a while, P3MG did a great job of understanding my needs prior, explained what to expect, how to relate the course content and apply myself during the course. Couple this with the quality of materials and the excellent trainer, the course was both engaging and rewarding. Having all my team pass, we have gone on to use the skills we picked up.

Thank you for your great 5 star review! It is always lovely to hear positive comments about the p3m global training materials and trainers. Congratulations to you and your team on passing P3O!
