The Queen just made project management a chartered profession – so what?

President Obama signed into law the Program Management Improvement and Accountability Act of 2015 (PMIAA). This means the Executive Agencies of the United States federal government have to, by law, use project and program management standards.

High five President Obama, and the Project Management Institute (PMI) who advised during the process (you can read Part 1 of my article about that here ).

Then, as we are all standing up applauding POTUS, who comes flying through the air with a Micheal Jordan-esque air hang?…. It’s none other than our very own Queen, who slams home a Royal Charter for the Association of Project Management (APM) in the UK; and in so doing will bestow the title of ‘Charted Project Professional’ on the chosen ones.

You can read the rest of this article here where I talk more about what a ‘Charted Project Professional’ is and why it is exciting for the project management industry on LinkedIn here.
